14.00 - Networking Activity 1: Creating Opportunities for EPS

How can we capitalise on the expertise across EPS? An aim of this informal session is to identify research themes / initiatives that require the transdisciplinary expertise offered by EPS partners.

           - Networking Activity 2: Capturing EPS Student/PDRA ideas

Central to EPS is our strong student body. Stacia Stetkiewicz (SRUC) will coordinate a discussion on the formation of an EPS student/PDRA network; involvement in outreach, e.g. public engagement, blogging, twitter; membership of the EPS steering committee; EPS student/PDRA events.

16:00 - Roundtable Discussion/Challenge “Building the Future”

With a number of forthcoming funding opportunities (e.g. Leverhulme/NERC) aimed at building centres of excellence, this roundtable aims to generate concepts for ambitious plant science-focussed centres. To spark ideas the session will start with summary feedback from the Networking Activities.
